Federal Sentencing Guidelines Calculator

Estimate an advisory federal guideline range from a Total Offense Level and Criminal History Category using the official U.S. Sentencing Commission Sentencing Table.

1. Offense

Base offense level 7 under §2B1.1, plus the loss enhancement under §2B1.1(b)(1).

2. Chapter 3 adjustments

The third level requires a pre-acceptance offense level of 16 or greater and a motion by the government.

3. Criminal history

0–1 = I · 2–3 = II · 4–6 = III · 7–9 = IV · 10–12 = V · 13+ = VI

Estimated guidelines range

15–21 months

Total offense level 14, Criminal History Category I

Calculation

Base offense level — fraud / theft (§2B1.1)+7
Loss amount enhancement (§2B1.1(b)(1))+10
Acceptance of responsibility (§3E1.1)−3
Total offense level14

Zone D — the guidelines call for a prison sentence

Probation is not an available option at this range. A lower sentence requires a variance under §3553(a) or a government motion.

Estimated time in custody

At the bottom of the range (15 months)~10 months in custody
At the top of the range (21 months)~13 months in custody

Reflects good conduct time under 18 U.S.C. § 3624(b) and an estimate of First Step Act earned time credits. This is Bureau of Prisons administration, not part of the guideline calculation, and depends on programming, risk classification, offense eligibility and BOP discretion.

What is still in play

Without acceptance of responsibility24–30 months
If the loss figure were halved12–18 months

None of these applies automatically. Loss amount is the largest driver in this calculation and is frequently contested; the figure in an indictment is not the figure a court must accept.
